Internet Marketing

Don't get misled, social media won't make your company more successful just by having an account... there needs to be goals and a purpose for everything you do "socially". Just like anything you do for your business or organization, this venture should be well calculated.

Generally speaking, most small businesses should only be utilizing a Facebook page and stay as far away from a Twitter feed as possible. Reason being, Twitter is a conversation; more of a minute to minute dialogue as opposed to a space to place ads and engage your fans (Facebook). Many businesses I've seen post the exact same thing on Twitter as they do on Facebook... fail (definitely not it's purpose). Don't get me wrong, for some businesses Twitter is a great tool to engage customers, but for most small businesses it is more of a waste of time and resources that could be allocated elsewhere.

Facebook is a great way to engage your customers in ways the yellowpages never could. Not only is it free to set-up but it's also customizable (FBML) to be uniquely tailored to your specific needs and goals.

LANDING PAGE BENEFITS

Many small businesses don't have the excess capital or company resources to create a fully functional 4 – 6 page web site. When this is the case, I advise many clients to consider building a landing page. In essence, a landing page is simply just a "home page" and possibly a contact page. The reason this is such an attractive option to many clients is that they don't have to come up with fluff in order to fill many of their site's pages, and most importantly, it costs significantly less.
More often, you see web sites that seem to have many more pages than they actually need. From frequently asked question pages with little content, to news sections that haven't been updated since 1997. While you make the decision to get your business online... don't get talked into something you don't need. For more information, you can contact me for a free consultation.

SOCIAL NETWORKING BENEFITS

Using social networking outlets for marketing and advertising purposes costs $0.00 to set-up. These social platforms (Facebook, Twitter etc.) provide developers free tools that allow unique integration with web sites and blogs. Utilizing the benefits of having an extended online relationship with your customers, clients or fans through social media is becoming an important factor in online marketing strategies.
